No, Ben Johnson is not throwing shade or dogging Lions quarterback Jared Goff

Look, I get it. Ben Johnson coaches the Chicago Bears now and there’s a heavy amount of Detroit Lions fans that are a tad bit salty about it.

This has created a situation where Lions fans have found new ways to hate him because they could not possibly say he was bad at his job. These ways include him being distracted by interviewing during the playoffs, which he did last year. Things went fine, and the Lions put up 500 yards of offense and 31 points this year. Plus, he was not the only new head coach interviewed while his team was in the playoffs. Kellen Moore was interviewed while his team was in the Super Bowl.

The other thing is this creation that Johnson left the Lions in a bad way. That did not happen at all. He did not sneak out in the middle of the night. All the reports that he had his full coaching staff ready are being taken the wrong way, and they are proved wrong by the fact that the Bears took weeks to hire their staff, had interviews, and everything. Plus, the Lions have wished him well and had nothing but positive things to say about him.

The new one that’s crept up this week is that Ben Johnson doesn’t like Jared Goff, or that he’s throwing shade at Goff. The same guy Johnson once said that he was an extension of and that was an extension of him.

It really starts with clips like this being taken out of context.
