When the Lions are scheduled to get to play against each of their former coaches

Yardbarker

The Detroit Lions have lost some key coaches this offseason. Ben Johnson took the head coach job with the Chicago Bears, Aaron Glenn took the head coach job with the New York Jets and Terrell Williams took the defensive coordinator job with the New England Patriots. We’re still waiting to see what Hank Fraley does with the Seattle Seahawks.

All this movement had some Lions fans wonder when the team could maybe get a measure of revenge and when the Lions will play against these former coaches. So we together this little guide.

Ben Johnson and the Bears

This one is obviously not hard to figure out. The Lions are going to play the Bears twice a year every year that Johnson is there. When those games will actually be scheduled is something we’re not slated to find out until May. This is going to be appointment television for sure. There’s no way one of these games isn’t going to be primetime.

Aaron Glenn and the Jets

You’re going to have to wait on this one but not too long. The Lions are currently scheduled to play the Jets at home during the 2026 season. That should be a fun homecoming for Glenn and if he’s able to get that team turned around, it could possibly be a big primetime game as well.

Terrell Williams and the Patriots

The Lions are slated to play the entire AFC East in 2026, so they’ll get to go up against the Terrell Williams defense at Ford Field then. Williams is a great coach and should have that defense pretty strong by then.

Hank Fraley and the Seahawks

Again, we don’t know what’s happening here but the rumblings are that the Seahawks really want him. If he gets the job, the Lions could play the Seahawks in 2026 if records land the right way. If not, they’re slated to play them in Seattle in 2027.

We’ll update this post if and when the Lions lose another coach.
