The Chicago Bears are absolutely reeling after a thorough beat-down in Week 15. The team looks lost and borderline checked out. Some players are even thinking about off-season vacations. There really is nothing left for this team to play for besides pride. It remains to be seen if this team has any of that left.
The Detroit Lions are a Super Bowl favorite despite a slew of injuries. They are 12-2 on the season and have won 11 out of their last 12 games. Even with most of their team on injured reserve, the Lions are 7-point favorites. The Bears have lost eight straight and that streak likely won’t end this week. Now on to the predictions!
The Detroit Lions are RIDDLED with injuries, recently losing David Montgomery, Carlton Davis, and Alim McNeill. No matter how injured the Lions may be, the Bears have shown zero evidence that they are ready or willing to compete in the remaining three games. I do not expect the Bears to win again in the 2024 season, and until I am proven otherwise, my picks will reflect that.
Samir Patel (1-1): Bears 17, Lions 23
The weather will be the great equalizer in this game and the Bears will manage to keep this close as both teams play a pretty ugly game. The Lions can’t afford another loss as they vie for the NFC’s top seed, and as DJ Moore said earlier this week, this team is thinking about vacation. Bears get a few takeaways, but Detroit puts just enough points on the board to keep the woeful Bears at bay.
Seth Conklin (1-1): Bears 34, Lions 26
I CANNOT and WILL NOT pick the Lions. Will I be wrong? Very likely. Am I a hater? Absolutely! Still, the Bears always seem to give the Lions a hard time. The defense will struggle between the 20’s but hold firm in the Red Zone. I think this will be Rome Odunze’s big game and Caleb’s first statement win. Look for Williams to pass for over 300 yards and Odunze to eclipse 130 yards and two touchdowns in the receiving game.
I think the Bears will get a small boost from the returns of Braxton Jones, Roschon Johnson, and, hopefully, Gervon Dexter Sr. The team seems checked out at this point. While I am hopeful they can have an offensive explosion against a vulnerable defense, I need to see it to believe it.
Ron Luce (1-1): Bears 13, Lions 31
DJ Moore is thinking about vacations, Caleb Williams is metaphorically dying on the sidelines, and the Bears are a hot mess. With Week 16 on the docket, the Lions come into Soldier Field hungry and ready to claim their 13th win. It’ll be cold, but that won’t stop the Lions. A competitive game would be a nice Christmas surprise, but an ass whooping will replace the lump of coal in my stocking this week.
