Dan Campbell lays out what would have to happen for him to admit the Lions don’t have enough to contend

The Detroit Lions have lost a lot of players to injury this year. Especially on the defensive side of the ball. That”s caused a lot of the talking heads out there to believe that the Lions are done. It’s caused fans of other teams and even the Lions to feel the same.

Lions head coach Dan Campbell just isn’t buying it. In fact he said that you just can’t convince him that the sky is falling. He went on to say that he believes in Kirby Joseph, DJ Reader, Brian Branch, Za’Darisu Smith, Levi Onwuzurkie, Ben Niemann, Jack Campbell, Patrick O’Connor, and Terrion Arnold.

With as many losses as Campbell and the Lions have had, you have to wonder what would have to happen to get Campbell to just say the team doesn’t have enough to contend. Well, he told local media that on Wednesday.

“I’ll tell you what, alright, when we come out of a game and everything that we said, that we had to do, including our identity, we do that for 60 minutes, and we lose the game, then I’ll stand up here and tell ‘you know what, we just don’t have enough.’ But until that happens you’re not going to hear me say anything about what we have or don’t have, or can we do this? We got plenty here in the whole roster. We got plenty on defense.”

That’s the best answer that any player in that locker room or any fan cheering for this team could have possibly heard. This is not over and nobody should think that this 12-win team is just going to pack it up for the season because they have some injured players. The quest goes on and the Linos are going to just keep going as they should. Fans should be getting behind that if you ask me.

By the way, I’m not a betting man, but I would bet we never seen Campbell tell us his team doesn’t have enough. Not because he wouldn’t be mean, but because he just won’t have to.
