Dan Campbell’s team is entering uncharted territory following their loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday’s Week 15 outing.

The Detroit Lions hadn’t lost a game since September, but the Buffalo Bills proved that anyone can stumble. The Lions had built a reputation for winning with guts under Dan Campbell, but it backfired on Sunday.

Now, with the storm over, the Lions are tasked with picking up the pieces. Detroit is now tied with the Philadelphia Eagles atop the NFC playoff picture. They still hold onto the number one seed, but only just barely.

The Eagles and Lions are now tied at 12-2, with only tiebreakers giving the Lions the advantage. The two teams have built themselves a nice nest on top of the totem pole, and both arguably have done it in the same way up to this point with their running games.

While Saquon Barkley continues to move at full speed ahead leaving many including a Super Bowl 50 veteran to catch up, the Lions are stuck in the mud.
