The Detroit Lions have a huge game on Sunday that everyone is looking forward to. They’ll play the Buffalo Bills at home in a game that has everyone thinking this could be a preview of the Super Bowl. All eyes will be on this thing, including the eyes of MVP voters.

That’s why this is the biggest regular season game of Jared Goff’s career. This is the night that he could very realistically put himself in the driver’s seat for the award if he goes out and has a big game with some big moments.

Voters absolutely love voting for the quarterback of one of the first-seeded teams. 12 of the last 15 MVP’s were all the quarterbacks of the first seeded team. It didn’t even matter if they were the perceived best quarterback in the league. What matters is wins and while quarterback wins are not a real stat, they certainly are to the voters.

Right now Josh Allen is considered the favorite for the award, but Goff is not far behind. Goff currently has the third-highest odds per BetMGM. So this game has become MVP candidate vs MVP candidate. We’re late in the season and this is arguably the biggest remaining game of the season for the whole league and one that could very well decide who takes home the big award.

If Goff can go out there and put up 300 or more yards and three touchdowns and the Lions get the win, he could be the league’s MVP by the end of this season. We’ll see what happens.
