The 9-1 Detroit Lions travel to Indianapolis to face the 5-6 Colts in a Week 12 interconference showdown.

The Colts kept their playoff hopes alive with a win over the New York Jets last week. Switching back to Anthony Richardson at quarterback provided a major spark as he threw racked up 304 total yards and three touchdowns.

Most importantly, he didn’t turn the ball over. If he can limit mistakes, Indianapolis’ offense can be a potent unit. However, it’s defense ranks in the bottom third of the NFL against both the run and pass.

The Lions are playing at a dominant level rarely seen before, winning five of their last seven games by an average of 30 points. They rank in the top five of the league in rushing and passing offense and by far lead in points per game at 33.6.

Detroit’s defense is no slouch either, ranking fifth against the run and fourth in takeaways. However, it did take a blow last week as standout linebacker Alex Anzalone suffered a forearm injury that will keep him sidelined multiple weeks.

Here are the best odds and bets for this game.

Colts vs. Lions Moneyline

Colts: +300
Lions: -380

It’s virtually impossible to pick against the Lions right now. They are the most complete team in football, and as they showed against the Houston Texans two weeks ago, they can still beat you even when they don’t play very well. While I’m picking Detroit to win, I do think the desperate Colts will muster up a valiant effort.

Richardson seems rejuvenated and has an underrated cast of skill position players to work with. I think the Indianapolis offense hangs around for a while before falling just short, so I’ll avoid the moneyline and bet on the Colts to cover the spread.

Colts vs. Lions Spread

Colts: +7.5 (-120)
Lions: -7.5 (+100)

The Colts will play hard as they trail the Texans by just two games in the AFC South. Having home field advantage could also give them a jolt. Injuries are mounting a bit for Detroit’s defense, providing a golden opportunity for a talented Colts’ offense. The Lions should prevail, but I think Indianapolis gives them a scare and covers.

Colts vs. Lions Over-Under 50.5 total points

Over: -110
Under: -110

Two good offenses playing in a dome? I’m definitely taking the over as I expect this game turn into a shootout.
