The Detroit Lions got a big win over the Green Bay Packers in Lambeau on Sunday and continued their lead in the NFC North and their lead in the NFC. There were some winners and losers in this one. Here’s what we saw:
Winners
Jared Goff
Goff has always got some sort of flack for something he might of done in like 2018 and everyone just keeps that narrative going for no reason. “Jared Goff plays bad in bad weather” was another one that just got debunked by Goff again. People need to start playing attention.
Kerby Joseph
He is just on another level right now. He’s playing at a Pro Bowl level for sure. Joseph got his sixth interception of the season in this one and got his first career pick six as well. I keep talking about it over and over again, but it’s his awareness that keeps making big things happen for him. It feels like he can do anything right now because just pays attention.
Carlton Davis
Davis shut down basically everything that came his way on Sunday. He only allowed three catches for 33 yards in this game. He had a really nice PBU and then he got hurt, but came back into the game. I’d say this was Davis’ best performance as a Lion.
Alim McNeil
Seven pressures for McNeill in this one. He was giving the Packers offensive line fits all night. Just imagine what could happen if the Lions grabbed a pass rusher at the trade deadline. It seems like that might be happening buy the way.
Taylor Decker
Everyone was worried about Decker last week, but he had a much better day in this one. He did allow a sack, but he kept Goff clean for the bulk of the day and that’s all you can ask for.
Losers
Brian Branch
Regardless of how you feel about what happened, Branch has a history of this exact thing and it’s not good. I don’t think he should have been ejected, but apparently the league did. You can’t be too upset because he rarely does anything bad, but when he does, it’s almost always this.
Al-Quadin Muhammad
After a sneaky good game against the Titans, Muhammad didn’t have the best follow up. After six pressures last week, he had none in this one and again didn’t put anything on the stat sheet. He should still get more shots to play, but this was a bit of a let down.
Kalif Raymond
After a week where everything went right for Raymond, everything went wrong for him in this one. He had a 12-yard loss on a reverse, got missed on every catch he went out for and didn’t really do big time stuff on the punt return. Still, we know how good this guy is. He’ll be back at it next week.
