There is no such thing as a normal week in Detroit Lions land. On Monday night ESPN Lions beat reporter Eric Woodyard dropped the news that Lions receiver Jameson Williams is facing a suspension violating the leagues Performance Enhancing Substances policy.

Since that moment, nothing about all this has seemed like it was going the way these suspensions usually go. We got the news Monday night and then the NFL surprisingly did not report the suspension on their daily transaction wire. They did, however, report the suspension of Commanders cornerback Kevon Seymour.

If that wasn’t strange enough, Lions head coach Dan Campbell; went on 97.1 The Ticket on Tuesday morning and while he couldn’t talk to much about it, the things he did say made it seem like this wasn’t a done deal.

“I can’t really say anything about it until the league gives judgment and it comes out on their end.” Campbell said. We’ll be fine, we’ll move on if this thing comes down, if it does, when it does come down, we’ll be fine.”

There’s just a lot of words in there that just didn’t make it seem like a suspension was coming. Then Williams practiced with the Lions on Wednesday and it was reported that he was considering appealing his suspension.

On Thursday it was announced that will not be appealing the suspension and that he will accept it. He and his agency put out the following statement.
