Cardinals starting WR questionable for Week 3 matchup against Lions

The Arizona Cardinals listed three players as questionable in their final Week 3 practice injury report ahead of Sunday’s matchup against the Detroit Lions.

Starting slot wide receiver Greg Dortch, who has eight catches for 58 yards this season, was added to the report as limited in practice with a hamstring injury and is officially questionable for Sunday. Undrafted rookie Xavier Weaver. who was a full participant in practice for the third-straight day after missing the first two weeks with an oblique injury, could take Dortch’s spot if he doesn’t play against Detroit, as Zay Jones is suspended until Week 5.

Starting offensive tackle Kelvin Beachum and reserve defensive lineman Dante Stills are also questionable. Beachum was the only Cardinals player who did not practice Friday after popping up on the report as limited in Thursday’s practice with a hamstring injury, while Stills has been limited in practice all week with a shoulder injury.

The Cardinals (1-1) are already facing a difficult task going against Detroit Lions’ star defensive end Aidan Hutchinson, who had five sacks in Week 2, so losing Beachum would be a tough blow, especially with offensive tackles Jonah Williams and Christian Jones on injured reserve. Jackson Barton would be Beachum’s likely replacement if he’s not able to go Sunday.

Rookie outside linebacker Xavier Thomas returned to the field Friday after missing Thursday’s practice because of personal reasons.
