The Lions just got a huge advantage for Week 1 against the Rams and it could get bigger

The Detroit Lions are just a little over two weeks from starting the 2024 season with a big game against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday Night Football.

On Friday the Lions got a big advantage when the league announced that Rams starting left tackle Alaric Jackson has been suspended for the first two games of the season for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy.

That’s a big deal for a team that’s looking to debut its brand new defensive line and secondary in this game.

Jackson may not be the only injury problem the Rams have. Former Lions left guard Jonah Jackson signed with the Rams during free agency and missed most of camp with an injury.

Rams coach Sean McVay said Jackson will be worked back into things next week, but his Week 1 status is still up in the air.

We’ll see soon enough where things go there, but missing Jackson is a big advantage for Detroit.
