Pro Football Focus gives the one offensive college player that the Lions should be keeping their eye on this season, we offer four more

The college football season is coming really fast. It’ll be here before the NFL season starts. Technically it starts next week when EA Sports releases the College Football 25 video game and that will be just about all anyone does for the next month or so.

Pro Football Focus’ draft expert Trevor Sikkema put out a list of offensive players for each team and their fans to keep an eye on during the college season. For the Lions, he selected Stanford receiver Elic Ayomanor. Here’s his thoughts:

“I am calling my shot here: I love this player-team fit. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound Ayomanor tore his ACL, MCL and meniscus before Week 1 of his true freshman season, rehabbed during all of 2022, and came back in 2023 to showcase an all-around skill set that featured track background speed, nuanced releases and routes, and above-average blocking strength and mentality.

Get him in a group with Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams, and Detroit’s offense will continue to cook.”

So far receiver has been the popular choice for the Lions in next years draft. ESPN’s Matt Miller selected Ohio State receiver Emeka Egbuka in his first 2025 NFL Mock draft last week. It makes sense since the Lions would go this way since they lost Josh Reynolds in free agency and there’s a lot of questions at receiver beyond St. Brown and and Williams.

Both those options are good, but we’ll add a four other names to watch.

Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona

This is the dream here. McMillian is a 6-foot-5, 231 pound freak of an athlete that can fly down the field and can go up and make insane contested catches with his giant hands. The problem is that he’s probably going to be the top receiver off the board next year. Still, watch just because he’s fun and you never know.
