Brad Holmes and Dan Campbell earn contract extensions from the Lions

The success of the current LIons regime of GM Brad Holmes and head coach Dan Campbell has led to a deeper commitment to keeping the duo working together. The Lions announced on Thursday that the team had reached contract extensions with Holmes and Campbell.

It’s a one-year extension for both, carrying them through the 2027 NFL season. Their original six-year contracts, signed in 2021, were set to expire at the conclusion of the 2026 season.

“We are thrilled to have Brad and Dan under contract for the next four seasons,” said Detroit Lions Principal Owner and Chair Sheila Hamp in a statement released by the team. “They have been the driving force behind the rebuild of our football team and the success that we have enjoyed. The continuity they provide for our football program will continue to be the key to our future success on the field.”

The Lions also added another year on the contract of special assistant to the owner, Chris Spielman.
