Dan Skipper is coming back for another year with the Lions

Dan Skipper, reporting for duty…

The veteran offensive line reserve will be back in Detroit for another season. The Lions and Skipper have agreed to a one-year free agent deal that will keep the tallest player in franchise history with the team through 2024. Jeremy Fowler of ESPN was the first to report the re-signing.

Skipper played in 11 games for the Lions last season, his sixth with the team. The reserve lineman has primarily served as an extra tackle and de facto blocking tight end for much of this career, though he did play reasonably well in a five-game stint as an emergency starter at guard back in 2022.

The 29-year-old Skipper has been involved in over 40 transactions with the Lions since initially joining the team in 2017, including several trips back and forth from the active roster to the practice squad.
