The 2023 NFL Season ended with the Kansas City Chiefs being crowned Super Bowl 58 champions, while the 31 other teams had to watch them celebrate.
And now all those teams, including the Detroit Lions, have their eyes set on next season with the hope that it’s them holding up the Lombardi trophy.
Like NFL teams, multiple sportsbooks have already turned their attention to the next Super Bowl, releasing the opening odds for all 32 teams to win Super Bowl XVI.
The Lions odds to win Super Bowl 59:
According to Draft Kings, the Lions open up with +1200 odds to win next year’s Super Bowl. Below are the teams who were given better odds to win:
- San Francisco 49ers (+550)
- Kansas City Chiefs (+650)
- Baltimore Ravens (+900)
- Buffalo Bills (+1000)
You probably notice just how small that list is, with the Lions being given the 5th best chance to win next year’s Super Bowl. They have the 2nd best odds in the NFC, only behind the 49ers, who open as the overall favorites. The Lions are coming off their first-ever NFC North title this past season and were so close to punching their ticket to Super Bowl 58. But their dream fell short, and now they are hungrier than ever with their eyes set on Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans.
Some thought there could be major shake-ups on the coaching staff this offseason. In the end, the Lions kept both their coordinators on staff after offensive coordinator Ben Johnson again withdrew his name from head coaching openings to stay in Detroit. Johnson will again lead the Lions’ offense, and all signs point towards the Lions extending Jared Goff this offseason as the team looks to build on last season’s success with their eyes on the Lombardi trophy.
