The Detroit Lions’ feel-good story ended in tragedy after their second-half collapse at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers. Given how competitive the NFC has been, there are questions surrounding the team’s chances of getting their hands on a Lombardi trophy.

However, they aren’t the only NFL squad with long-standing playoff droughts. This piece will look into some of the squads that are starving for the chance to make and win a Super Bowl of their own.

If Dan Campbell is to be believed, it may take a bit longer before the Detroit Lions get their shot at another Lombardi trophy. The team has a championship under its belt, but that happened way back in 1957. While there are still surviving members of that championship squad, almost every Lions fan has never seen their team win anything.
