The Detroit Lions will host the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday Night Football in just a few hours. That did not stop them from quietly shuffling their roster a round a bit. Nothing huge here, but moves to report nonetheless.

Sign Devine Ozigbo to active roster

The Lions have had two healthy running backs all week long with David Montgomery out and Mohamed Ibrahim having a season ending hip injury against the Ravens. The Lions have decided to sign Devine Ozigbo from their practice squad onto their active roster.

Expect him to the be the Lions RB3 this week and maybe even stay on as the RB4 after David Montgomery returns. The Lions did have an open roster spot after Marvin Jones’ departure. The other option is he’s signed back to the practice squad when that time comes.

Elevated Michael Niese to active/inactive list

The Lions could potentially be preparing to go into this game without Frank Ragnow. he has not been ruled out yet and the Lions comments on Saturday made it seem like they were going to wait until the very last minute to make their decision.

Niese has been on the Lions practice squad all season long. He’s been tried as both a guard and a tackle during his short time in the NFL with stints with the Bears, Broncos and Buccaneers. If Niese is active tonight, it will be the first regular season game of his career.

Due to him being on the active/inactive list, he will revert back to the practice squad after Monday nights’ game.
