Lions finalize the roster for Week 5 with some moves

USA Today

Saturday is final roster prep day for the Detroit Lions as they approach another Sunday game with some injury issues. The Lions made a few moves in advance of the Week 5 matchup with the Carolina Panthers in Ford Field.

The most prominent move is the official activation from suspension of wide receiver Jameson Williams. While it was a mere formality, it has now officially happened and Williams will make his 2023 season debut on Sunday.

The Lions also activated OLB Julian Okwara from the injured reserve list. He’s been there since immediately after the roster cutdowns.

Fullback Jason Cabinda is now on injured reserve. He has missed time with a knee injury and will now miss at least the next four games, including Week 5.

The only practice squad elevation this week is undrafted rookie wideout Dylan Drummond. His promotion is not a good sign for Amon-Ra St. Brown to play against Carolina.
