A day after suffering a hamstring injury in practice, the Detroit Lions have downgraded the status of rookie running back Jahmyr Gibbs from questionable to doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers.
The Lions announced the change in designation on Saturday, and it’s not a good sign for Gibbs for Sunday. He was a full participant in practices earlier in the week but left Friday’s session with the hamstring issue.

Detroit did not elevate any running backs for the game from the practice squad, so if Gibbs doesn’t play, the role will be divided up between Craig Reynolds and Zonovan Knight.
