Detroit Lions Amon-Ra St. Brown Could Miss Week 5
“It’s just a little abdominal injury. I’m feeling pretty good,” St. Brown said during the week. “I was running today. I actually think I might have hit one of my top speeds the other day, so I’m feeling pretty good.” It seems the Lions are going to be cautious with Jared Goff‘s favorite target. The opponent is likely making the Lions alright with St. Brown missing the game. The Panthers are amongst the worst in the league and the Lions could likely get away with resting their best receiver for the game. It also could be an opportunity for others to make their mark.
Opportunity For Others
Josh Reynolds has looked good in limited action and could see a bigger role. The player I am most intrigued by is Jameson Williams. His suspension got cut short and he has rejoined the team. While I doubt he will be an every-down player, he will likely see the field in some capacity. If he can make some noise in his first game of 2023, the Lions’ offense could be a juggernaut in the second half of the season. I would also expect David Montgomery to get a healthy dose of carries. Rookie Jahmyr Gibbs is questionable with an injury as well but if he plays he could also finally see more work.
It makes sense that the Detroit Lions are being cautious with Amon-Ra St. Brown. They will need him if they are going to make a Super Bowl run.
