Amon-Ra St. Brown sidelined from Lions practice with injury

In the first practice of the Week 3 preparations, the Detroit Lions were without their top receiver. Amon-Ra St. Brown will not practice on Wednesday as he deals with a toe injury suffered in the Week 2 overtime loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

St. Brown injured the toe during the game and left to have a metal plate inserted into his shoe. He did return, but the toe injury is problematic enough that Detroit’s leading passing target will not participate in Wednesday’s practice, per head coach Dan Campbell.

“He’s day-to-day,” Campbell said of St. Brown.

St. Brown has 12 receptions on 16 targets, netting 173 receiving yards. All are tops on the Lions through two games.

Game status won’t be determined until Friday afternoon. It’s worth noting that the Lions passing offense ground to a halt in the joint practices against the Jacksonville Jaguars when St. Brown sat with a foot injury during the summer.
