Detroit Lions at Chicago Bears: Week 10 odds and prediction

SideLion Report

As the Detroit Lions look to make it back-to-back wins over division rivals, here are early odds and a prediction for Week 10 against the Chicago Bears.

The Detroit Lions got back into the win column with a 15-9 victory over the Green Bay Packers in Week 9. In Week 10 they’ll hit the road to take on another division rival, the 3-6 Chicago Bears.

Other than Week 8 against the Dolphins, the Lions’ defense has trending in a generally positive direction lately. Aaron Glenn’s unit will need to keep that momentum going against a Bears’ offense that’s averaging 31.3 points per game over their last tree contests, as the dual threat ability of Justin Fields has taken center stage to nice effect. In Week 9, he set the single-game NFL record for rushing yards by a quarterback with 178.

So as the Lions look to start a winning streak, here are the early odds for Week 10 against the Bears with a prediction for the game.

Prediction: Lions 27, Bears 23

Yes, I’m predicting the Lions will make it two wins in a row on Sunday. On the road, outdoors, in November.

This game has sneaky shootout potential. Or maybe it’s not so sneaky, with an over-under tied for the highest on the Week 10 NFL schedule and unlikely to move far from that number if it does at all. A high over-under has been typical of Lions’ game this season, shy of Week 5 against the Patriots.

The way the Bears’ offense has been rolling, they will not have much trouble moving the ball. And their two best defensive players were traded before the deadline, so the Lions’ offense has an opportunity to get back toward its early season success.
