If the Detroit Lions are to be successful in 2022, these three players in particular will have to “prove it”.

The Detroit Lions finished 3-13-1 last year, a disappointing season that landed them the No. 2 overall pick in April’s draft and ultimately defensive end Aidan Hutchinson. Then, with a second-first-round pick (No. 32) as the centerpiece, they traded up to No. 12 overall for wide receiver Jameson Williams.

Even with these moves, it takes more than just one good draft to help a team develop from a bottom dweller to a playoff team. The Lions have been selecting towards the top of the draft for as long as anyone can easily remember. Yet one must wonder why the Lions still have so many holes all over the roster.

In order for the Lions to become playoff contenders soon, they need some recent additions to step up their game this season and showcase the development that can make the franchise believe in their talent and progression towards being impact players for the long haul. This is a crucial year for the Lions to determine who on their team are keepers are who are not.. They need to find out which players are going to be a legit part of the future.

Let’s take a look at three Lions players in particular who need to “prove it” during the 2022 season.
