Instant grade for Detroit Lions sixth-round pick James Houston: A sack beast

Detroit Free Press

Free Press sports writer Carlos Monarrez gives his grade for the Detroit Lions‘ sixth-round NFL draft pick on Saturday afternoon:

Grade: B

The 6-foot-1, 241-pound outside linebacker probably deserves an A for his nickname alone of “Da Problem.” The guy was a beast in the backfield last year with 16.5 sacks and led the FCS with seven forced fumbles. He played in high school for former NFL cornerback Patrick Surtain and then transferred from Florida to Jackson State for his senior season and played for Deion Sanders. He’s a developmental player with special teams upside after he displayed kick-cover talent with the Gators.
