As the Detroit Lions target prospects for the 2022 NFL Draft, here are three former teammates of Amon-Ra St. Brown they could take.
The Detroit Lions did pretty well in the 2021 NFL Draft, landing future stars in offensive tackle Penei Sewell and wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown and finding others who contributed. St. Brown, in the fourth-round, proved to be a steal.
The USC football program is not the high-end NFL factory it was for a stretch of time, as the on-field results under former coach Clay Helton dropped off. New coach Lincoln Riley will be trying to change that. St. Brown is a former Trojan, and he was a productive player in his three seasons as USC.
The Lions could target some USC products in April’s draft, and thus reunite St. Brown with a former college teammate or two. In particular, these three former Trojans could be on Detroit’s radar in the 2022 draft.

3. CB Isaac Taylor-Stuart
Over the 2019 and 2020 campaigns, St. Brown and Taylor-Stuart surely had some practice field battles. Taylor-Stuart never put it all together statistically in three seasons as USC, but he has intriguing size (6-foot-2, 200 pounds) and speed (4.2-second 40-yard dash in high school) that begs to be molded by an NFL coaching staff.
Taylor-Stuart will be a late-round pick at best, and some will say he won’t be drafted at all. Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn and defensive backs coach Aubrey Pleasant may be intrigued by the tools here, even if it’s only a Day 3 flier.
