The NCAA’s New NIL Rule will Create a New Industry

The NCAA is allowing college athletes in all three divisions to get paid for the use of their name, image and likeness (NIL).

This creates an entirely new industry and business model that players are going to have to be taught.

They will need to know how to read legal documents, properly manage money, create a business entity and mitigate risks and personal exposure… many before they are 20 years old.

NCAA athletes will need specific tools and education to know how to navigate this new system – who will be responsible for teaching them?
