The grind never stops in the NFL. The offseason may have just begun across the league, but teams and players are always looking to take that next step to either get better or get back onto the field, as is the case with Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson.
Hutchinson is working his way back from a broken leg suffered in Week 7 against the Dallas Cowboys. Hutchinson could have pulled a Brandon Graham and made a grand return had the Lions made the Super Bowl. Instead, he now has a full offseason to recover and should be good to go well ahead of training camp. In fact, based on his recent social media post, he may already be fully recovered, or at least getting very close to being as such.
Hutchinson took to Instagram Monday to share a highlight of his rehab and training, including some sprints. Hutchinson looked smooth running a 40-yard dash and it’s only February. Give him a full offseason and there’s no reason he can’t get back to the player he was before his injury.
Even with just playing five games, Hutchinson led the Lions with 7.5 sacks. He had 4.5 sacks in Week 2 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. No other Lion had more than four sacks. A healthy Hutchinson and more help alongside him will go a long way towards the Lions making a push for Super Bowl 60 next year in San Francisco.
