Aaron Glenn gets second interview with Jets, the only candidate to do so

The Lions have already lost one coordinator this week to a head coaching position after the Bears reportedly hired offensive coordinator Ben Johnson as their next head coach. It won’t be long until the second round happens.

Defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn is set for a second interview with the New York Jets Tuesday and if all goes well, which is likely will, Glenn will be the next head coach for Gang Green.

Making that fact clearer is the fact that, according to Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic, Glenn is the only candidate set for a second interview. This coming from a team that had a laundry list of candidates interview with the team, going back to the end of December when the Jets interviewed now-Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel and former Panthers and Commanders coach Ron Rivera.

Glenn was long seen as a top, if not the top, candidate to replace Robert Saleh in New York. Glenn’s defensive prowess will fit right in with the talent the Jets have on defense. Glenn has waited a long time for his chance. That chance is coming soon.

The Jets also have just one general manager candidate set for a second interview: Commanders assistant general manager Lance Newmark, who spent 26 years with the Lions.
