The Lions first playoff opponent has been revealed, date and time for Divisional round matchup with Commanders announced

The Detroit Lions playoff bye week is about to come to a close and the tell will be back at work Monday to prepare for the Divisional round of the playoffs. We now know who they will face. 

Because the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders won on Sunday, the Lions will face the Commanders at Ford Field. 

The game will take place on Saturday, January 18th at 8:00.

The Lions and Commanders do have a bit of a lengthy playoff history together. The teams have faced in the Wild Card round 2000, the NFC Championship game 1991 and the Wild Card Round in 1983. The Commanders won all three matchups. This is the first time the Lions have hosted a playoff game between the two teams though.
