Lions open as big favorites vs. Commanders in NFC playoffs

USA Today

It didn’t take long for the sportsbooks to install the Detroit Lions as big favorites in next weekend’s NFC Divisional Round matchup against the Washington Commanders. The Lions have opened as 8.5-point favorites for Saturday night’s game at Ford Field.

BetMGM quickly posted the Lions as big favorites following Washington’s exciting 23-20 win over Tampa Bay in the NFC Wild Card round. The Commanders won a postseason game for the first time since 2005 with the last-second field goal that doinked in off the right upright.

If the line holds, it will be the highest margin the Lions have been favored by in a postseason game in the Super Bowl era.
