Aaron Glenn set for busy weekend of head coach interviews

The Lions may not be busy as a whole this week with having a first-round bye, but their top head coach candidates sure will.

Defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn will be part of that group as he is set for five head coach interviews this weekend.

His schedule begins Thursday night with an interview with the New York Jets. He then will have two interviews on Friday, a morning session with the New Orleans Saints and then an evening interview with the Las Vegas Raiders.

His schedule concludes Saturday with another pair of interviews. He meets with the Jacksonville Jaguars in the morning and then the Chicago Bears at night.

For those keeping score, that’s five of the six vacancies Glenn will interview for this week. The only team not on the schedule is the New England Patriots and that is because Glenn decided to decline an interview with the Patriots (perhaps a sign New England is set on a candidate, possibly Mike Vrabel).

Glenn is still very much focused on helping the Lions reach their ultimate goal of the Super Bowl, but he’ll have a lot on his plate elsewhere. It may also be safe to say that Glenn’s days in Detroit are numbered, but for a very good reason.
