Titans claim David Long off waivers from the Lions

USA Today

David Long’s time with the Detroit Lions has come to a complete end. A day after the Lions released the veteran linebacker, Long was claimed off waivers by the Tennessee Titans.

Long played his first four seasons with the Titans, from 2019-2022. The Lions poached Long from the Miami Dolphins earlier this year. He played in five games for Detroit as an injury-related emergency option.

All players who are released at this time of year are subject to waivers, and the Titans have one of the first waiver claim spots. With just two weeks to play in the season, Long figures to be locked in with the 3-12 Titans. The Lions are poised to get LB Jalen Reeves-Maybin and perhaps LB Alex Anzalone back before the end of the regular season.
