The Detroit Lions made a grave mistake en route to a potential comeback, and they fell short.

The Buffalo Bills and Detroit Lions had an elite matchup in Week 15, providing one of the best NFL regular season contests. It could be a potential Super Bowl preview, though the two teams have plenty of playoff hurdles to jump if they want to make the big game.

The Bills came away victorious, winning 48-42 in a game that came down to the wire. The Lions had a chance to secure a mounted comeback early in the fourth quarter, though they dropped the ball.

Detroit head coach Dan Campbell made a huge mistake, opting to attempt an onside kick, which Buffalo returned for a near-touchdown and eventual score to give them enough of a lead to get a big win.
