The Eagles and Steelers both scored upset victories in Week 13. These teams hope to do the same against division rivals in Week 14. (odds via ESPN Bet)
Green Bay Packers at Detroit Lions (-3.5)
Detroit has won 10 straight games including a 24-14 victory over the Packers in Week 9. Lions quarterback Jared Goff averaged 6.6 yards per attempt for 145 yards in the game, his second-lowest passing total of the season.
Packers quarterback Jordan Love threw for more yards than Goff but was held without a touchdown and had an interception returned for a score late in the second quarter. Green Bay’s Jayden Reed led all receivers with five catches for 113 yards including a 41-yard grab after Love’s pick-six.
If not for Love’s turnover, the result could’ve been much different. Together, Green Bay (+9) and Detroit (+8) have the sixth- and seventh-best turnover differentials in the NFL. A victory on Thursday night could simply go to the team that protects the ball.
Injuries could also determine the winner as left tackle Taylor Decker, cornerbacks Emmanuel Moseley and Carlton Davis all made Detroit’s injury report on Monday, as did defensive linemen D.J. Reader, Josh Paschal and Levi Onwuzurike.
Lions head coach Dan Campbell said he expects Mosely to play and is optimistic about Davis but the others could miss Thursday’s matchup. The Packers have won three straight games and could make it four against an injured Detroit team.
Cleveland Browns at Pittsburgh Steelers (-6)
Quarterback Jameis Winston threw three interceptions, including a pair of pick-sixes, in Cleveland’s 41-32 loss to the Broncos on Monday night, but what if he didn’t? Without the interceptions, Winston’s four touchdowns and a franchise-record 497 yards would have been enough to beat any team, even the 9-3 Pittsburgh Steelers.
