9 biggest takeaways from Lions win over Vikings, Jared Goff looks like the league MVP

Is your heart pumping? I know mine is. The Lions continue to win games that the old Lions would have lost and it’s beautiful to see. The Lions pulled out a 31-29 win against the undefeated Vikings and are now the first place team in the NFC North.

Goff Report

You can’t tell me this guy isn’t the best quarterback in the NFL right now. He went out and had another amazing game that saw him go 22-25 for 280 yards and two touchdowns. He completed 88% of his passes on Sunday. That is insane. What’s more insane is that he’s completed 84.5 % in the last four games combined. Dude is playing MVP level football right now.

Overcomers

The Lions start to this game was really bad. They went out and took a sack, got called for holding twice, failed on a fake punt in their own territory and then allowed a touchdown. Then they went three and out on the ensuing drive and the Vikings kicked a field goal. It had the feeling of a nightmare day until the Lions rallied off 21 unanswered points to end the half. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the old Lions would have turtled and took the beatdown.

The Lions overcame another thing late in the game. David Montgomery has a bad fumble six and the Lions had to overcome that to get the win and they did. What a day.

Jamhyr Gibbs broke off this beautiful 45-yard touchdown run in the first half. Look at that juke.
