Lions make multiple roster moves that could help in their effort to replace Aidan Hutchinson ahead of Vikings matchup

The Detroit Lions have a mega huge gigantic game against the undefeated Minnesota Vikings tomorrow and they’ll have to play that game without Aidan Hutchinson, who was having a Defensive Player of the Year type season. The Lions have made a few moves that they’re hoping could help replace that production.

Elevate Isaac Ukwu from practice squad

No shocker here at all. Ukwu had a pretty good showing against the Cowboys last week and you have to think the Lions are going to put him out there to see what he can do this week against the Vikings. This is a big opportunity for the undrafted rookie, if he can capitalize, he can carve out a real role this year.

Elevate Shane Zylstra from practice squad

really looking forward to what the Lions are going to do here. This could be a sign of them wanting to get their tight ends involved in pass catching a little bit more. Zylstra had a really good summer catching the ball, it’s still a bit shocking he didn’t make the 53-man roster.

Sign Pat O’Connor to 53-man roster

Lions are bringing out the veteran in this one. O’Connor was actually and Bob Quinn draft pick back in 2017, but he never actually played for the Lions. He’s spent the last seven seasons playing for the Buccaneers as mostly a special teams guys. Let’s see what he can do in this defense. The Lions now have just one spot remaining on their 53-man roster.
