Dan Campbell reportedly selling home after Lions fans found address after loss

Well here’s something that’s pretty unfortunate. Crain’s Detroit reporter Nick Manes is reporting that Lions head coach Dan Campbell will be selling his Oakland County home due security concerns.

“The couple ‘loved’ the house, but security concerns necessitated the move to somewhere more private, Dan Campbell told Crain’s on Wednesday morning.

‘The neighborhood, everything,’ Campbell said of the appeal of the house. ‘There’s plenty of space, it’s on 2 acres, the home is beautiful. It’s just that people figured out where we lived when we lost.’

The home, that was built by former Red Wings great Igor Larionov, went on the market earlier this week for a price-tag of $4.5 million and is already pending. Anyone who’s trying to buy a home in the area right now can tell you that these things are flying off the shelf as fast as they hit the internet.

The bigger conversation here is privacy and how it’s owed to athletes, coaches and celebrities. Being on TV every week doesn’t give the public the right to invade into someone’s personal space. It definitely doesn’t give anyone the right to go find the person’s address and show up at their home because you’re upset about a loss.

That’s just all kinds of messed up. Manes has a lot more information on the home in his story and it’s worth reading for sure if you’re into business and real estate. I highly recommend you subscribe to Crain’s as well.
