Bucs add another key starter to latest injury report as they get ready to play the Lions in Week 2

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are beat up all over the defensive side of the ball. Only the linebacker position remains unscathed.

The defensive line and the entire secondary, both cornerback and safety, all have major injuries heading into the Week 2 matchup against the Detroit Lions. That’s obviously not ideal when playing an offense like the one Jared Goff and co. possess.

At least the offense is in good shape? Well, not entirely after Wednesday’s injury report.

Up-and-coming right tackle Luke Goedeke popped up on the report as a limited participant due to a concussion he suffered during the season-opener against the Washington Commanders. There weren’t any reports of a concussion, beforehand, so it’s unclear when it happened. That’s a big deal, considering how well both Aidan Hutchinson and Marcus Davenport played against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday Night Football. Also, the drop-off from Goedeke to backup Justin Skule is pretty steep, with all due respect.

We’ll see how the rest of the week plays out, but this is obviously something that will be monitored closely.
