Lions cut receiver they traded for at last year’s trade deadline

The Lions traded for Peoples-Jones at the trade deadline last November. They sent a 2025 sixth-round pick to the Browns to get him. Peoples-Jones was not a big part of the Lions receiving corps last year, but was expected to be a big part of it in 2024 since the belief was that he could play a similar style to Josh Reynolds, but that has not happened and DPJ has struggled to find his footing in Detroit.

One of the biggest issues was a lack of separation and that caused issues with him making catches and even caused an interception in the second preseason game.

Since Peoples-Jones is a vested veteran, he is now a free agent and can sign with any team he wants to. There’s a potential chance the Lions look to add him to their practice squad soon, so keep an eye out for that possibility.
