The joint practices between the Detroit Lions and New York Giants often looked more like the Olympic boxing trials than football. Two days of frequent fights between the two teams has resulted in hefty fines for the Lions and Giants organizations.

Per Adam SchefterAdam Schefter, the Lions and Giants have each been fined $200,000 for the melee-marred practices in New York. The two teams couldn’t even finish the second scheduled practices due to all the fighting.

Schefter notes that the NFL had warned teams ahead of training camp that unwarranted and excessive brawling would not be tolerated.
