Hendon Hooker still battling a finger injury from OTAs

USA Today

Lions second-year quarterback Hendon Hooker has had an up-and-down training camp through the first week of practices. One of Hooker’s issues has been consistency with the accuracy of his passes, something that was a bigger issue in the team’s OTAs and minicamp in June.

It turns out Hooker has a good reason for some of the ball placement struggles. He’s got a dislocated finger on his throwing hand, according to Justin Rogers of Detroit Football Network.

Hooker initially dislocated his ring finger in OTAs. While it’s healing, it’s still causing some problems in gripping the ball.
