CB Terrion Arnold
Arnold notched his second pick of the offseason on Thursday after he secured one in rookie minicamp. The play came in coverage against Jameson Williams, with Jared Goff throwing the football.
“Arnold made a great break on a comeback route from Williams and made a terrific catch,” Tim Twentyman of DetroitLions.com wrote. “Goff made his way over to Arnold on the sideline to congratulate him and give him a high five. Arnold has looked good over the first two open OTA practices.”

By all accounts, Arnold has looked about as good as you could hope for. He’s well on his way to securing the starting role opposite Carlton Davis in 2024.

WR Jameson Williams
Williams and Goff were able to connect on multiple occasions on Thursday, and one of the plays, which went for a touchdown, might have been the best of the afternoon, according to Lions Wire’s Jeff Risdon.

“Jameson Williams roasting the combination of Kindle Vildor and Ifeatu Melifonwu on a deep post route and catching a strike from Goff in stride,” Risdon wrote. “‘Jamo’ pulled away from both DBs while the ball was in the air.”

Aside from that touchdown connection, Goff and Williams also hooked up for a 29-yard strike in a team period that ultimately led to a field goal.

WR Amon-Ra St. Brown
In what is the least surprising news ever, one of the team’s best players was looking great in practice. Per Twentyman, St. Brown “looks to be in midseason form” and “was all over the field catching passes” from Goff.

K James Turner
The rookie outdid veteran Michael Badgley during the two-minute drill portion of the practice, according to Justin Rogers of The Detroit News. Turner nailed kicks from 52 and 54 yards that would’ve been good from longer, but Badgley missed both. This competition is anything but a foregone conclusion.

RB David Montgomery
File this one in the “least surprising news ever” column, also. Per Risdon, “there is such an obvious difference” between Montgomery and the rest of the backs, and the veteran “shined in every single rep.”

It’s important to note, however, that second-year back Jahmyr Gibbs was not among the rest of those backs, as he did not take part in practice.

LB Mitchell Agude
Agude needs to stand out if he wants to make the roster, and he apparently did just that on Thursday. The Miami product had a few pressures and one sack during the latest open practice at OTAs, per Rogers.

CB Morice Norris
The rookie cornerback had a pair of passes defensed, with one of them preventing wide receiver Maurice Alexander from making a big play, according to Risdon, who praised Norris’ closing speed on the play.
