The NFL draft is less than a month away.
Brad Holmes and his front office have proven they are very capable of putting together great draft classes. They have had major hits on every day of the draft, but especially on Day Two. This roster isn’t in desperate need of much because of his work, but they do have some positions that need to be addressed.
This offseason, they should be focusing on getting better play out of their defensive backs, adding depth on the defensive line, and building out the wide receiver room.
These scouting reports should introduce you to some of the names that Lions fans could hear during the three days of the NFL Draft.

Traits and Skills
YAC Ability
Despite his size, Wilson moves extremely well. He takes long strides that can seem long but he somehow can heat up quickly and be able to pick up yards after the catch. He needs some space but when he gets it he will impress you in this area.
Ball Tracking
With large receivers such as Wilson you hope he can use his size, he does. He adjusts to poor throws when needed and he tracks it well when being used in the red zone. This trait shines when he is in tight coverage especially as he shows he can bring in contested passes.
Body Control
Whether it is making a contested catch, one outside the hashes, or even blocking, Wilson shows he has excellent control. He flashes when adjusting to passes or looking to avoid a defender. The contact balance he has is also worth noting for his size.
Fit within the Lions Roster
Johnny Wilson is a tough study but a fun one at times. His size makes you think he should be a tight end, a move that would do marvels, and yet he denied himself the switch in college. His YAC ability, ball tracking, and body control make for a uniquer trio of skills to allow him a chance to succeed in the NFL. The Lions need someone with real size on the outside who can make plays. They brought back Donovan Peoples-Jones but Wilson could bring something completely different and needed to this offense. At the right price sign me up for him being drafted.
