Lions to get a visit from a veteran free agent cornerback who grew up in Detroit

The Detroit Lions are not done adding to their cornerback room apparently. They have another visit scheduled for this week with a free agent cornerback that grew up in Detroit and attended Ferris State.

Thomas has spent time with the Cardinals, Browns and Texans. He spent the last three season in Houston as a depth piece and occasional starter and he played quite well. In 2023 he had a Pro Football Focus grade of 72.2 before suffering a season ending injury in November.

Thomas has actually had grades in the 70’s in the last three seasons of his career. Now he looks to come to Detroit to possibly be a part of a nearly brand new cornerback room that now features Carlton Davis and Amik Robertson.

Thomas has played 81 career games and has started 22 of them. He has two career interceptions and six pass breakups. Thomas is also a special teams ace that has history of being a kick returner. Something the Lions need.
