D.J. Reader is the newest member of the Detroit Lions. The team signed the veteran free agent to a two-year contract on Thursday following his visit with the team.
The move sure seems like a popular one with fans and media alike. Looking at the reactions posted across social media, the response is overwhelmingly positive for Reader. Even though he’s coming off a quad injury that ended his time in Cincinnati, everyone seems excited about adding the 335-pound Reader to the middle of the Detroit defense.
Here are some of the top social media reactions to the Lions adding Reader into the den.

My own take
I covered Reader in his formative years with the Texans. He’s a very likable, engaging player. Good locker room/culture fit aside from being one of the best interior pass-rush facilitators in the league. He doesn’t get sacks, he helps others get a lot more of them–consistently
