One of the bigger names still on the board in free agency will visit with the Detroit Lions later this week. Per numerous reports, free agent defensive tackle DJ Reader will travel to the Lions team facility on Thursday to meet with the team.

Reader, 29, played the last four seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals after starting his career with four years on the Houston Texans. The 335-pound nose tackle has started 96 games in his eight seasons. He finished the 2023 campaign on injured reserve with a quad injury and has missed an average of six games per season in his Cincinnati tenure.

Detroit has largely stayed away from bigger names on the first two days of the free agent negotiating period. To this point, Detroit signed CB Amik Robertson, DE Marcus Davenport and traded for CB Carlton Davis from the Buccaneers.
