Watch: Detroit Lions Podcast with special guest Emory Hunt

USA Today

The latest episode of the Detroit Lions Podcast brings a special guest to the live show. Emory Hunt from CBS Sports and Football Gameplan joins to talk about the upcoming 2024 NFL draft.

Hunt is an independent-minded evaluator with years of experience in grading players. He walks us through his process for watching film, attending games and events, and how his grading criteria work. Hunt was one of the very few who thought Jahmyr Gibbs was a top-10 pick in 2023, and he breaks down what he saw.

We also leaned on Hunt to help break down new Lions EDGE Mathieu Betts, who he knows from his CFL coverage.

Around Hunt’s appearance, we talk about the Lions losing front office staffer Lance Newmark and DBs coach Brian Duker. A couple of potential free agent targets get broken down, as well as some Lions players who might be getting more money sooner than later.
