The Detroit Lions appear to have made an important decision regarding former Tennessee Vols quarterback Hendon Hooker.
Hooker, a third round selection by the Lions in the 2023 NFL Draft, has been on IR all season due to the torn ACL he suffered against South Carolina in late 2022.
The Lions recently opened the 21 day window to activate Hooker. If he’s not added to the active roster within those 21 days, he has to spend the rest of the season on IR (which means he wouldn’t be able to practice with the team).
On Monday, Lions head coach Dan Campbell revealed that the plan is to add Hooker to the 53-man roster this week, which means he’ll get some much-needed practice time with Detroit as the 2023 regular season comes to a close (the Lions are in position to make the playoffs, too).
