Jerry Jacobs surprisingly added to injury report, Marvin Jones is out

The Detroit Lions dropped a huge surprise on Saturday when cornerback Jerry Jacobs was added to the Lions injury report with a knee injury out of nowhere. Jacobs was a full participant all week and wasn’t on the injury report at all. Now he is. He’s been downgraded to questionable per the Lions.

In addition to this news, the Lions have ruled Marvin Jones out for personal reasons. He will not travel with the team to Baltimore this weekend.

The Jacobs news could be a big hit for the Lions secondary that’s already ailing after the loss of Emmanuel Moseley. Especially since Jacobs has been playing so well and leads the team in interceptions.

A questionable designation isn’t the end of the world. Jacobs can still play Sunday. But the timing is very worrisome since it came out of nowhere. That could mean the injury happened very recently and the Lions may want to be cautious on Sunday.

We’ll update you as soon as we know more. This could be a gametime decision. Inactive’s drop at 11:50AM ET on Sunday.
