It’s that time of the week again for the Detroit Lions. It’s roster shuffling Saturday. The Lions made a lot of moves this week. Lets’ go through them one by one.
Jamhyr Gibbs downgraded to doubtful.
Gibbs showed up on the Lions injury report on Friday with a hamstring injury. He was initially given a questionable designation. Now it’s doubtful. Looks like the rookie will more than likely be sitting this one out.
Place Jason Cabinda on Injured Reserve
Cabinda missed Week 4 against the Packers and has been on the injury report for a couple weeks now. Things haven’t got better for him. He’ll now be out for the next four games at least.
Activated Julian Okwara from Injured Reserve
There’s some good news for the Lions. Okwara was designated to return to the Lions at the start of the week and he had 21 days to be activated. Well, he’s been activated. Okwara practiced all week and should play on Sunday.
Activated WR Jameson Williams from Exempt/Commissioner Permission
No shocker here. Jameson Williams is officially activated and is now a member of the Lions 53 man roster. He should also play on Sunday. The Lions do have plan in place for him though. Look for him to be on a snap count.
Elevated WR Dylan Drummond from the Practice Squad to the Active/Inactive list
Dylan Drummond could play the first regular season game of his career on Sunday. This could also mean that Amon-Ra St. Brown could be ruled out. We’ll be sure to share that information with you when we know.
It’s important to note that Drummond has been elevated to the active/inactive list, no the 53 man roster. Every team is able to elevate a player to this list once a week. They go back to to the practice squad after the game. The most notable case for this is James Houston last season. He was elevated just for the Thanksgiving game and then signed to the roster a few days later after his big game.
